PackAssist is a mobile app that helps you pack your bags. This page explains what data it processes, why, and how to control it.

1. Who processes your data

PackAssist is published by Willemium Studio, a sole proprietorship (full identification in the legal notice).
Address: 47 rue Vivienne, 75002 Paris, France
Contact: [email protected]

2. What the app does without sending any data

PackAssist works entirely without an account. Your packing lists, your personalized item library, and your settings are stored only on your phone (local app storage), never sent to a server, unless you turn on sharing with others (section 3).

Android may include this local data in its automatic phone backup (tied to your Google account), as it does for any app — PackAssist does not trigger or control this backup, it is an Android system feature you can turn off in your phone's settings.

3. If you turn on sharing with others ("Pack as a team")

To share your lists with someone else, you create or join a "household". This requires:

This data is hosted by Supabase (database and real-time sync), a third-party provider. It is only visible to the household members you explicitly invited by code.

Sending the sign-in code by email is delegated to Resend, which receives, for this purpose only, your email address and the generated code. Resend hosts this data in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework supplemented with standard contractual clauses, the transfer mechanism outside the European Union recognized by the GDPR.

4. Crash reports

If the app encounters an unexpected error, a technical report is sent to Sentry (hosted in the European Union), to help us fix the issue. It contains:

The report never contains your email address or the content of your lists. This data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app free of errors, and kept for 90 days at most.

5. Advertising

PackAssist may display banner ads provided by Google AdMob on the Home, "My lists" and library screens — never while you are actively preparing a list. If you are in the European Economic Area, a consent screen (Google User Messaging Platform) is shown before any measurement or personalized ad; you can change your choice at any time from the app's Settings. An optional Premium subscription removes ads.

6. Weather and destination photo

To estimate the climate of your destination, the app queries public weather services (MET Norway, NASA POWER) and geocoding data (bundled with the app, no network request needed for city search). To show a photo of your destination, it queries Wikimedia (Wikivoyage/Wikipedia). These requests never carry any information about you personally — only the name of the place searched.

7. Full list of subprocessors

Summary of every provider that may receive a piece of data about you, and why. Nothing else ever leaves your phone.

8. Your rights

At any time, from the app (household screen), you can:

For any other request about your data (access, correction, objection), write to us at [email protected].

9. Changes

This policy will be updated as the app evolves — in particular when a real paid subscription is introduced (the current Premium does not yet process any payment). The last update date is shown at the top of this page.
